Welcome to the website of Milledgeville Alumnae Chapter (MAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We bring you sisterly greetings as you have chosen to visit this website and become more acquainted with our chapter.
Currently our chapter consists of 33 members who are motivated and eager to making a big difference by providing relevant and exemplary public service in the communities we serve. Charted on May 1st, 1994, by 16 tenacious charter members, MAC serves the Middle GA area of Baldwin, Putnam, and Hancock counties for 23 years.
As we continue to provide " Uncompromising Commitment to Communities: Service, Leadership, Empowerment," MAC will continue to implement programs that sustain the legacy of our 22 Founders and place emphasis on the Sorority's Five-Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.
Each year the chapter is advancing and we are continuing to award scholarships, participate in voter registration drives, health walks, Really for Life and conducting programs to assist in the positive growth of our youth such as the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy(middle school girls) and Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta G.E.M.S.(high school girls).
Another level has approached us in Delta in MAC, a level in which will continue to improve our rich legacy of service, encourage constructive development of our members and provide resources that serve to empower us individually and collectively. Our charge continues to be RECLAIM, RETRAIN,AND RETAIN Delta's most valuable resource: our members, while continuing to serve our community.
If you are already a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and have not been active recently, you have been missed! Your skills, gifts, and talents are a welcomed asset to the Sorority. I encourage you to reignite your passion and join us in making a difference in the lives of others.
Thank you for taking a few moments to visit our website and to learn more about the magnificent and wonderful things we are doing in the communities MAC serves. We invite your involvement in our numerous programs as we strive and continue to improve the lives of others in our communities.
Yours In Service,
